DharmaDancing Dance Meditation, Brighton, UK

With Salma Darling

Saturdays: 24 March, 14 April, 26 May 2018

7.30-9.30pm (doors open 7.20pm, last entry 7.45pm) followed by chai & chat

In DharmaDancing Dance Meditation we are invited to move in our own way, at our own pace, to a variety of music.   With light facilitation to support our explorations, we’re invited to dance with permission, holding in presence all aspects of our humanity.  Getting curious about the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and relational aspects of unfolding, we dance to reveal the wisdom of the body, to embrace change and become awake.

Open to beginners and those with more experience, and all genders, sexual orientations and ethnicites are welcome.  Lower age limit 16, no upper age limit

Dance barefoot or in soft-soled shoes, and wear loose layered clothing – it gets hot!

Bring a bottle of water to keep hydrated, no alcohol or drugs

Wheelchair accessible

No need to book, £10 / 8 concessions

6-8th April: Dance of all Beings – Dartington, Devon UK

Through dance, voice and creativity, bring forth planetary wisdom

Wild Divine Dance comes together with Joanna Macy’s ‘Work that Reconnects’ to create a ‘Council of All Beings.’  We gather in Council, dancing and speaking as creatures and the elements, allowing wisdom to move through us for our personal, collective and world healing.

Salma Darling with Constance Washburn

Staring 6.30pm on Friday and ending 4.30pm on Sunday

Do you long to be more intimately connected to your wildish self as part of the living planet?  Do you want to activate the wisdom inside you for the benefit of all life?  To be a restorative presence on the earth we need to access the intelligence that has evolved over 4 billion years, and reconnect to ourselves, each other and the earth.

Through conscious dance, sounding, mask-making, spoken word, theatre and time in nature, and following the ‘Work That Reconnects’ spiral, we’ll explore ourselves as part of the animate earth.  Embodying and speaking as an aspect of nature such as lion, butterfly, mountain or sunlight, fog or mycelium at the ‘Council of All Beings’, we’ll call forth the intelligence of the more-than-human, and the deep wisdom held in living systems.

Engaging the body in movement and stillness, depth and playfulness, we invite compassionate and mindful deep listening.  As a community we create a witnessing container for us to open to possibilities that emerge through freeing the body in dance, engaging with the emotional possibilities of the heart, and the mind’s imagination, creativity and power.

Dance of All Beings is open to all, regardless of prior experience.

May 11-13th date TBC: Surrender into Emptiness – Cento E Oito, Lisbon, Portugal

Conscious Dance and Meditation

Do you want to feel more alive and awake to the fullness of your being and to others around you?  Is there a longing in you to be freely open-hearted and connected to all of life?

We will mindfully explore our inner world and impulses, in the dynamic dance between movement and stillness.  Through conscious dance and periods of still meditation, individually and collectively, we will explore what it is to step into expanded consciousness through the truth of sensate experience. We will explore spatial awareness and release, from the gravitational field that holds it all.

Together we create a strong container for us to open to possibilities that emerge through freeing the body in embodied awareness and dance.  Through embracing the fullness of our being, with mindfulness and compassion, we engage with the rich emotional possibilities of the heart, and the imagination, creativity and power of the mind.

From the intimate to the infinite, we will engage with the felt sense that leads to the awakening of wisdom and understanding our belonging to all of life.

We will dance, we will sweat, we sit in the midst of life, and we will surrender our selves up to emptiness and mystery.
