Supervision and mentoring for health care professionals, psychotherapists interested in integrating an embodied approach, arts psychotherapists, counsellors, somatic therapists / educators, yoga therapists, massage therapists, dance group facilitators and dance movement psychotherapists
Supervision and coaching provides a reflective space to support facilitator issues and relationships within your professional practice. The supervision session includes movement and somatic sensing along with dialogue, held in a mindful and compassionate environment.
Professional practice can be supported in supervision through investigating intentions, asking appropriate questions, examining interventions, bringing awareness to events and developing skills.
I have facilitated dance movement groups since 1998 in the NHS, social services, charities, and schools; working with adults with mental health diagnosis, adults and teenagers with learning disabilities, adults with cerebral palsy, adult and child caregivers and general populations in private practice. I have specific interests in disordered eating, depression, anxiety, addiction, chronic fatigue, trauma and multicultural issues. As appropriate to the client I integrate mindfulness, Authentic Movement, Somatic Experiencing (Peter Levine’s trauma work), ecopsychology and interdisciplinary art. My theoretical approach is integrative, informed by attachment theory, developmental and transpersonal perspectives.
As a senior registered dance movement psychotherapist and supervisor with the Association of Dance Movement Psychotherapy UK I adhere to high ethical and professional standards, and approach each therapeutic relationship with care and respect for each persons professional unfolding.
